It is said that history is written by the victors. It is true that the wealthy and the powerful have the privilege of framing history according to their biases. But what about those who create history? What about the names that pass unrecorded in textbooks, yet influence change in myriad ways? What about those who labor so that the churn of civilization and industry continue? By studying real people who slipped through the past or by bringing life to fictional characters who represent those never afforded a voice, writers question history every day, and make us question it too.
