Our Mission
To inspire readers of all ages and to celebrate the culture of books in a beautiful part of the world.
Our Vision
From the streets to the storefronts, our town transforms into a celebration of books during the Harbor Springs Festival of the Book’s premier three-day event. The Festival and a variety of literary events throughout the year inspire readers of all ages. We strive to be recognized for the Festival’s significant economic and cultural impact on our community.
Land Acknowledgement
We collectively acknowledge that the Harbor Springs Festival of the Book venues occupy the ancestral, traditional, and contemporary Lands of the Anishinaabek – Three Fires Confederacy of Ojibwe (Chippewa), Odawa (Ottawa), and Bodéwadmi (Potawatomi) Nations.
Support of Reading
The Harbor Springs Festival of the Book supports readers, writers, and publishers in their critical roles to provide a broader understanding of both the world we see and the world we imagine. We encourage readers of all ages to engage with books, their creators, and one another to recognize that it is only together that we grow and learn through this necessary partnership. Therefore, we resist attempts to place limits on this relationship and invite all members of the community to join in our evolving collaboration.
