Loving families. Small towns. Mysterious deaths. Forgotten pasts. Missing persons. Messages from the beyond. Secrets rise to the surface for any number of reasons and from any number of sources. Some are mundane and even expected, while others are extraordinary or otherworldly. What they all have in common when employed by an adept writer, however, are the ways in which secrets revealed can grab our attention, turn the plot on its ear, and keep us turning pages in search of answers.
