IMPORTANT UPDATES TO THE SCHEDULE:

Bianca Bosker is no longer able to attend in person. She will join us virtually for Seeing Art & Artists Anew on Friday afternoon which will now be held in the Lyric Theatre. Women’s Autonomy: Mind, Body & Soul will take place in the Marina Park Tent. To summarize:

Harbor Springs Weather

Our current weather forecast - keep this in mind and prepare accordingly for the three outdoor tent venues.

  • Name badges are required for admittance to General Sessions and can be picked up at Irish Boat Shop during the Festival Weekend:

    • Thursday 1 - 5 pm

    • Friday 9 am - 5 pm

    • Saturday 8 am - 3:30 pm

    • Sunday 8:30 - 10:30 am

    The Festival printed program will be available at Registration.

    Registration is SOLD OUT and all online ticket sales have ended. Remaining tickets for the Happy Hour Drink tickets will be sold at the door.

  • Maps:

    Festival Venues (with links to Google Maps):

    All venues except the Festival office are wheelchair accessible. Indoor venues have restrooms. Public restrooms are also available at the Harbormaster Building next to Marina Park Tent.

  • Parking is available throughout downtown Harbor Springs and at the Harbor Springs High School.

    Saturday Shuttle | 8 am - 5:30 pm

    The Shuttle will run on a continuous loop with stops at:

    • Harbor Springs High School front entrance

    • Parking lot behind the Methodist Church (3rd & Gardner)

    • Irish Boat Shop

    • Harbormaster Building near the Marina Park Tent

    • Corner of Bay & State Streets

    The route is less than 3⁄4 of a mile round trip, so you will never have a long wait.

    Look for the shuttle (Nub’s Nob bus) and the sandwich board signage at each stop.

  • The complete schedule of events is available here (or on pages 5-16 in your program).

    ALL EVENTS ARE ONE HOUR, EXCEPT WHERE OTHERWISE NOTED.

    Each session is followed by 30 minutes for book signing and transitioning to the next event.
    Featured titles will be available for purchase after each event.

    There will be no signings immediately following the final 3:30-4:30 PM Saturday afternoon sessions. Those presenters will be signing at the All-Presenter Signing & Happy Hour.

    The helpful suggestions (on page 4 of your program) can get you ready to participate in sharing an excellent Festival with our presenters, moderators, and all participants.

  • Each session will have a brief online evaluation for you to complete. You can access the evaluation here. QR codes with this link will also be posted at each venue and in your program (pg. 4). If you prefer to fill out a paper evaluation they are available at each venue and also at the Festival Merchandise Table at Irish Boat Shop.

  • Even though there is a 12:15 pm session in the PAC, no food or drink is permitted. Come early and eat your lunch in the cafeteria. No food or drink is permitted inside the auditorium.

    You are permitted to bring a lunch to all other venues.

    Pre-ordered Bag Lunches are available for pick up at Irish Boat Shop beginning at 11:15 AM on Friday and Saturday.

  • Between the Covers is the official bookstore vendor of the Festival and sponsors the Pop-Up Bookstore at Irish Boat Shop and the book sales after each session.

    Hours:

    • Thursday 1 - 5 pm

    • Friday 9 am - 5 pm

    • Saturday 8:30 am - 6:30 pm

    • Sunday 8:30 am - 12:30 pm

    All featured titles will be sold with presenters available to sign their books at venues immediately following their sessions. (Catherine Newman will NOT be available to sign after her Sunday morning session.)

    Keynote books will NOT be pre-signed. Please bring your copies to have signed following the keynote presentation. John Vaillant will also be available to sign following his public session on Saturday or during the All-Presenter Signing & Happy Hour on Saturday evening.

    Tiffany D. Jackson will not be in attendance at the All-Presenter Signing on Saturday evening. Please get your copies of her books signed following her Saturday session.

    No signed books will be available to purchase after the Festival weekend.

    Cash, check, VISA, MasterCard, Discover & American Express are accepted at all locations. Apple Pay and Tap to Pay are also available at the Irish Boat Shop pop-up bookstore.

    Festival merchandise and pop-up bookstore sales must be separate transactions.

    Between the Covers donates 20% of their weekend Festival book sales to the Harbor Springs Festival of the Book.

    There are new items this year - pocket notebooks, bandanas and stickers!

    Along with many old favorites - tote bags, water bottles, hats, tiles and posters.

    Our online Presenter page also includes bios as well as featured book summaries and links to follow presenters online and on social media.
