It is safe to assume that we will never tire of learning about the Second World War. Even as this not-so-distant past becomes further past, our appetite for the hidden histories of World War II is insatiable. Writers and researchers continue to uncover the stories we didn’t know we were missing. From true tales of tweedy academics moonlighting as international spies to novels of battles waged with federal spending and game theory, the distinctly narrative approach to this historical period only serves to enhance our obsession with the deadliest conflict in human history.
